Ingredients:
- 500g beef or lamb (cut into chunks)
- 2 onions (chopped)
- 3 cloves garlic (minced)
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp ground ginger
- 1 tsp turmeric
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- ½ tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tbsp honey
- 1 cup prunes (soaked in warm water)
- ½ cup almonds (blanched and toasted)
- 1 cup water or beef broth
- ½ tsp sesame seeds (for garnish)
Instructions:
- Heat olive oil in a large pot or tagine. Add onions and garlic, and sauté until soft.
- Add the meat and cook until browned on all sides.
- Stir in the spices and mix well. Add water or broth, cover, and simmer for 1–1.5 hours.
- Add prunes and honey, then cook for another 10–15 minutes.
- Garnish with almonds and sesame seeds before serving with Moroccan bread.
